ACK! I found a rare pony with a hair cut! Now what??
This is a common problem everywhere. Many collectors have come across at 1 pony with a hair cut. You maybe trying to make a custom pony that needs a different colored hair. Whatever the cause here is how to do re- thread a ponies hair.

We are very confident of this procedure that we will FINALLY help Dr. Seaport with his bangs!
Let's go!
Your Supplies should consist of:
- The pony you wish to re- thread hair into
- Scissors
-Pliers (needle nose would be best)
- Super Glue (I used Quick Tite)
- a big needle (like the one in the picture)
- One of those EEZ- THRU Floss Threaders from the dentist office (you could also use a very thin wire) (this helps in the threading into the needle)
- Replacement hair
Procedure:
1.) After
you acquire all of your materials you must
give your victim *cough* prey, I MEAn, pony an even shorter hair cut than it had
before (I know! Its horrible, like it wasn't bad enough in the first place. You
have to give an even shorter hair cut).
2.) Next, you have to
take off the
ponies head from
the body. Some times the head is very tightly glued on, so you might even want
to use a knife to nudge the parts where it is glued.
3.) All set?? Now you have to pull the hair out from inside the head of the pony (you can try from the top if you cant clip on to it easily from inside, just be careful it doesn't make the hair plug TOO big)
4.) Ready to start the needle work? Ok, well, first you have to take a little clump of longer than usual replacement hair (about 15 strands perhaps, have fun counting if your really cautious). Don't take my word on the number of hair strands.
5.) Thread this little
clump of hair through the blue
floss threader, and then thread the floss threader through the hole in the
needle. If the hair does not pass through the hole of the needle, you will have
too much for the hair plug for the pony.
6.) What I like to do is, take some glue and slide one end of the clump of hair over the glue so that the hair becomes a little tacky and sticks together (this helps so the hairs stay together better).
7.) You
should then insert the point of the needle through one of the hair plugs in the
head. Right
before the needle is going to go through the head, hold on to the non- gluey end
of the hair, to anchor that end from not going through the hole).
8.) You may need to use the pliers here to pull the needle completely out of the head.
9.) When the needle is out, you can try to glue the hair inside the head with crazy glue so that it stays in place, and prevents it a little from being allowed to pull out.
10.) Repeat steps 4- 9 for the rest of the hair plugs you wish to fill.
11.) When your all done you may want to snip the hair a little so that it isn't super long.
I believe that's all the steps you need. If you have any questions or comments just email me at:
