Week 1

Rochefort- En- Terre

Bretagne, France

Yes, I literally took my pony Skyflier everywhere in my bag around France. For most of these vacation shots, thanks to a large camera memory disk, I usually took a regular one and one with Sky just for this purpose of bringing her around the world with me. ^_^

Skyflier usually sits on top of my computer and for the past couple weeks she has been sitting there with a little Eifel tower statue of the first time we went to Paris when I was very little.

She's so eager! Skyflier even helped me pack! ^_^

And to really get into the mood, the night before my sis, mom, and I all sat around in Briana's room to watch one of our favorite movies while growing up called Gay Purr-ee. =^.^=

My sis and I were excited for our trip, and the fact that we were bringing our ponies, that we even wore pony shirts while traveling. *dorks* ;p

Playing our DS's while on the plane for 6 hours. x_x

After arriving in Rochefort- En- Terre we checked in and took a long nap. The time difference was 6 hours.

Our French exchange teacher friend, named Guilhem whom we hosted for 3 months last year, met up with us for 2 days before heading back to Paris. We were all in very tight quarters but it was nice having everyone so close.

The next day we sought out to find food at the local Inter Marche. Here's Sky oogeling over the French pastries.

Escargot anyone?? The sea food clerks just laughed after I was seen taking a picture of this. I guess I stood out as being a tourist. ;)

And we found Mon Petit Poney stuff!! lol We actually got a couple comic books which was really neat. I wish they had a pony comic like those here in the States.

Wish our fresh cold cuts and baguettes the first day in France was spent at the beach.

We all camped and ate in the car because there was a sudden down pour. Bretgane France was known for being very rainy and cold... which we obviously didn't know because we weren't planning to pack a lot of warm clothes. ;)

Funny story! My mom bought about 5 of these juice containers for our picnic at the beach and as we were about to drink one Guilhem pipes in and stops us to say that they were concentrated syrups! Silly Americans! So for the remainder of the trip we drank a lot of flavored water. ;) And there's our Crème Brule's for desert. ^_^

While at the beach we watched a school group learn some lessons on sailing. So cute!

While walking on the beach, the ponies posed in a patch of a cute plant nick named Bunny Tails.

Pretty pic!

And what's France without Crepes!?! This was our first crepe in France! MMmmmmm Nutela and sliced bananas... *drools*

And here is my very own flag! ^_^ The reason we went to Bretagne (pronouced like my name Britanny) was because it actually  helped with naming me. :) And also since my dad is from Great Britain it just made sense. Luckily they didn't spell it like the French. ;)

Mmmmmmm French deserts are soooo good!! The one on the right, called Ile Flotante, became our faaaavorite desert to order everywhere.

Here's Guilhem making fun of the ponies. ;)

Shishta and I!

A cute cuddly kitty that was around our town.

We discovered local towns such as this one called Redon.

This was a very unique type of architecture where the base was actually smaller than the top. There were called Tutor houses from the middle ages.

All the towns in France had beauuuuutiful flowers everywhere!!!

From 12-2pm all of the stores, supermarkets, and even some restaurants close down making time for lunch and a snooze....They closed down so much that they even took the clothes off their mannequins! But hey, it's France! We found it funny that the lingerie stores actually had more clothes on than all the other stores.

France must be very open about their sexuality if they have side walk condom dispensers along the streets. ;)

Time for lunch at the Creperie!

We learned that lunch crepes are actually known as Galletes which are often cooked with egg, ham, cheese, and mushrooms even. Crepes and Gallettes are also traditionally served with cider which is like an alcoholic sparkling cider. Sooo gooood.

Then came the flambé! For desert was had delicious crepes!

Ma fam around Rochefort- En- Terre

They had a cute little bakery with deeeeeliiiiiishous rolls we ate for breakfast.

Where's Skyflier? Just look at the gorgeous flowers at a souvenir shop.

There was even a little shop that made and sold soaps!

This was a cool crafty store that sold these wire hair or decorative pieces.

The local castle in our town which we took a tour of.

The castle stood on a high cliff with a wonderful viewpoint.

Cool pic of Sky on a ledge looking at the architecture that was common around our town.

Sis and I

Mom and dad

We went to a hydrangea plantation with over 400 hydrangeas.

There were hydrangeas all around France but when we came here I was awe struck. Soooo gorgeous!!

Me with the flowers.

I actually started collecting hydrangea blossoms while in France to press in a text book I had.

Sky you camera whore! But sooo pretty!

One the last day of being on the French country side, we visited a little town called Lizio which had this museum created by a sculptor/poet.

All throughout the museum, inside and out, the sculptor turned pieces of junk into moving creations.

Thought this was cute. The legs are actually made out of tea kettle spouts.

After the museum we went to a Ciderie.

Thankfully the signs were in English so we could read along.

The fermenting stage

And the final stage of bottling

We ended with a taste test of the regular and hard ciders and went home with a couple bottles of the regular kind to share.

We also saw a traveling circus while in Lizio

And saw real ponies!

On the last night we found the cute kitty again.

"I'll miss you Skyflier

Next up! The road to Paris!
