An Act of Love...

This is a true story of Mommy Bowtie's love for her daughter, Baby Bowtie.
I bought a lot off Ebay of a Mommy Bowtie and Baby Bowtie who had a bad hair cut for being a rare UK. When I received them, it turned out the hair cut was worse than I had expected.
Mommy
Bowtie and her daughter decided to take a trip to Doctor Seaport. Dr. Seaport
said he could implant new hair into Baby Bowtie but no donors were available.
Mommy Bowtie thought long and hard, even though she was in pretty good
condition, part from the few marks on one of her back legs, she decided that
instead of having her daughter continue throughout her life having all of the
other babies from the herd pick on her because she was new and had a terrible
haircut, and no donor was available to donate hair for her, she decided
to donate her own hair.
Dr. Seaport questioned her decision since she was in good condition. Mommy Bowtie replied that since her sister (another Mommy Bowtie) was already part of the herd, she would be the one to be traded anyhow (her sister was in mint condition), she wanted to be the one to help her daughter.
Dr. Seaport realized that what Mommy Bowtie was doing was very unselfish, and that she was giving something back that could help another pony, in this case, her own daughter. Dr. Seaport carried out the procedure in little less than a week. Take a look at the pictures of the procedure.

This is the before picture. I had removed their tails though. As you can see Bowtie had a very short hair cut, it was shorter in the back but the picture does not show it.

In preparation for the implant Baby Bowtie had to receive and even shorter hair cut. The hair that was cut off in in the yellow barrette in the back, on the dish. From there, Dr. Seaport had to totally remove her hair with pliers. From there, we spend several long hours perfecting this new technique of threading the hair from Mommy Bowtie through and needle and threading her hair into each and every hole. This means 56 TINY HOLES!!

He was able to allow them both to have a nice long tail by cutting Mommy Bowtie's tail in half.

The end product turned out very good. We will probably make a mold of Mommy Bowtie's body of clay (since we don't have to worry much about getting clay stuck in it). Baby Bowtie is very happy with the outcome and is doing well with the other ponies at the Lullaby Nursery.
